TREE NURSERY TOUR TICKET

Meeting Point: Forestry Yard Entrance @ the Isle of Eigg Tree Nursery site
Time: 12.30pm ~ 3pm
Entry Fee: £25 per adult/Under 16’s: Free
This is a very special tour day! With this ticket it gives you a tour of the tree nursery and not only that, included in the day there is a rare opportunity to hear traditional musicians led by the very one and only Eilidh Shaw.
Come along to the Eigg Tree Nursery to see how we are growing native trees, from local seed. Learn more on the initiatives our community are delivering to Create, Restore and Protect our precious woodlands and temperate rainforest on the Isle of Eigg. Follow the steep learning journey we have had to achieve a thriving small business within the forestry run by the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust. Creating and providing local employment, a replica-table case study of circular economy, stable and reliable source of native tree stock for Eigg planting projects and since 2023 exporting off island to local crofting and farming planting initiatives. There is a lot to fit into the tour, however we aim to take approx. one hour for the nursery tour and music will be approx one hour. Tickets ideally should be purchased prior to the tour start. However, we understand that weather and plans can change last minute in this part of the world (!) and a full refund will be given if necessary providing cancellation is made 24hrs prior to the tour start. We will allow walk ins on the day providing you either have a mobile signal or we are also happy to accept cash payments. We offer trees for sale on the day, (also available for sale in the Isle of Eigg Craft Shop) and a small stock of t-shirts, hoodies and unique plant pots made from recycled plastic rope collected from beach cleans on Eigg in 2024.
